Role: Branding + Web/UI Design
Microsoft was looking to increase the use of Edge and Bing through a new online shopping feature which allows customers can compare prices, get coupons, and earn rewards.
There were two parts to the ask. We needed to create a landing page targeting merchants, brands, and agencies to partner with Microsoft. But also create a visual identity for the new brand, that would establish Microsoft as a legitimate player in the shopping space.
Project: Icons, User Interface Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
For this project I was asked to rethink the current Amazon shopping experience (on tablet devices), from the overall look and feel to the functionality and user experience.
I started by creating a custom icon set and completely new UI for the Shop by Department menu.
I also designed a new top level navigation menu, by reducing down the Amazon logo to just the "A" with arrow. This opened up space for the search menu and additional nav icons, but also served as a design element, which is repeated throughout the UI.
Lastly, I introduced additional colors to the palette. The blue and green background not only compliments the orange accent color but also reflect the colors of the pacific ocean, which was a nod to the Seattle based location.
Project: Coverage Map Experience
Role: Visual Design, UX Design
While working at Razorfish I was asked to explore some visual and UI concepts around new ways to showcase coverage maps on T-Mobile.com.
My approach was to create a more visually immersive experience in which the user could explore coverage as well as other features, such as WiFi hotspots, tower locations, events, and current promos.
Project: Responsive Web Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
I was approached by Cascade Engine Center to re-design their website with a few requirements in mind. It had to be responsive and highlight three main categories, Industrial, Marine, and Power Generation.
This was one of the concepts I presented, which I felt was the strongest. It includes an updated color palette, font treatment, custom icons, and a unique, but still intuitive UI.
Project: App Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
POP brought me on board to help complete their vision of the Major League Soccer "Match Day" app for Windows 8.
Working from the approved home screen, I was asked to create landing screens for all top level categories, including News, Videos, Scores, Live Match, and Club News.
Project: App Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
Working from provided wireframes I created two visual design directions for ESPN's fantasy sports app "Streak for the Cash".
The first was a dark theme, in which I used gradients and subtle background textures to create a scoreboard like effect.
The second was a lighter theme, which was inspired by the play book diagrams used by basketball and football coaches.
Project: Mobile Web Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
The Seattle Design Festival celebrates the ways design makes life better. Community members, city officials, citizen-experts, and designers all come together at workshops, performances, tours, exhibitions, talks, films, gatherings and more to exchange ideas.
While working at Karass Creative, I was asked to design a mobile web site for the 2013 Seattle Design Festival. Using the provided brand graphics and color palette I created a simple and functional design which users could browse events either by list or location.
Project: Responsive Web Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
Vital Talk provides services for clinicians to help improve relationships with their patients.
While working at Karass Creative I was asked to design a clean, responsive website that focused on the interpersonal aspect of the company and it’s two main entry points, Clinicians and Teachers. As a group we chose to incorporate Vital Talk's studio photography, combined with subtle typographic elements and custom icons to give it a fresh and inviting presence.
Project: App Design
Role: Visual/UI Design
I was asked to create a few conceptual designs to showcase the capabilities of an app called Buzzr, which alerts users with news and updates related to their favorite athletes and/or products. The technology used would allow the app to take many forms, but in this instance it launches as an animated graphic then turns into a static interface.
Project: Various Graphics
Role: Visual Design
While working with the Xbox team at Microsoft I created background graphics for gamer avatars, slots cuts, banner ads, and promo pages for xbox.com.
Client: CBS Late Show
Role: Visual Design
I was approached by one of the producers for the Late Show with David Letterman to design a book cover commemorating the show’s 20th anniversary. The design was inspired by iconic aspects of the show as well as the call sheets used by production.
Project: Brand Identity
Role: Visual Design, Illustration
While working for CBS Interactive, I was asked to help create a visual identity for one of their subsidiaries, CBS Interactive Music Group. Working from the concept “Play Here” I created an icon based illustration which could be used across multiple applications including presentations, digital & print collateral, and interior graphics.
Company: CBS Interactive
Role: Visual Design
Original poster designs I created for the Live on Letterman show, which featured musical performances from artists such as Mumford & Sons, Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, and more.
Project: Press Kit
Role: Visual Design, Print Production
The design featured one box containing two folders, to hold CDROMs and Magazines. As well as two compartments for membership cards. Printing was done on heavyweight black matte card stock with black foil stamped details.
Project: Event Collateral
Role: Visual Design, Print Production
